MISSION STATEMENT 

The Perry County Council On Aging is a non-profit agency created for the purpose of improving the life of older Americans. The primary objective of the Agency is threefold: 

1.) To enable the older adults to live in their homes as long as possible with appropriate supportive service. 

2.) To remove individual and social barriers to economic and personal independence for older persons, including the provision of opportunities for volunteer activities. 

3.) To act as an advocate of older persons in developing community resources for the aging throughout the Perry County area while providing a comprehensive service network. 

VISION STATEMENT

To respectfully assist seniors, through our programs and services, so that they may navigate the aging process with dignity while staying independent in their environment.

New Activity:

Line Dancing Class

Join Perry County Council on Aging for a night of line dancing. The cost per person to participate is $5. The class will be taught by Jennifer Peter who has been a line dance instructor in Perry County for many years. The first class will start with the basics so all are weclome to join regardless of prior experience. Line dancing is a great way to get exercise, relieve stress and improve coordination and balance. Have fun with friends and learn a new skill in a welcoming and inclusive environment with no judgement. 

Ham and Bean Hootenanny

In May we are honoring all Perry County First Responders. Police Officers, Firefighters, Paramedics, EMTs, Dispatchers and more. All are invited to join us to celebrate those who keep our community safe. 

Salad Luncheon and Tablescape Showcase

Enjoy a delicious salad luncheon and view the entries in our Tablescape Showcase. Contestants have been asked to design tablescapes for a small dinner party to showcase their design skills. Judges will be scoring the tables on design, color choices, cleanliness and tableware placement. The winner will receive a trophy for their effort. Also for your viewing pleasure the Lincoln Trail Quilt Guild will have a display of of their recent works. We will be collecting a $10 donation at the door. 5th Annual Senior Health and Resource Fair

This year will be our 5th annual Senior Health and Resource Fair. The date for this year is Thursday July 11th, 2024 from 10am-2pm at the Schergens Center in Tell City. Stay tuned for more details about what vendors will be available. If you are a vendor click here for details about getting a spot.
